Blue Man Group

December 17, 2010

For my birthday, Mom and Dad gave Preston and I tickets to see the Blue Man Group. It was a fantastic show. I’ve never seen so many different actions, lights, and movements going on all at the same time – it was sensory overload! Preston and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Mom and Dad.

A Christmas Carol

December 16, 2010

I thought this was a pretty creative medley of Christmas songs performed by a talented acappella¬†group, Straight No Chaser. Tell us, what’s your favorite Christmas carol?

I’m Dreaming of a Blue Christmas…

December 15, 2010

I have a lot of blogging to do to catch up on what we’ve been busy with lately, so I thought I’d start with the current stuff and work backwards.

Preston and I are looking forward to our second Christmas together, and as we did last year, we have turned our home into a blue winter wonderland.

My new peacock ornament for this year. I love it!

A new ornament from my mother-in-law. It's so cute!

This is our misc. tree. We put random ornaments on it!

We add a picture ornament for each Christmas we share together. It will be fun to watch this grow over the years!

Why I haven’t posted

November 3, 2010

So, I’ve received a few complaints about the lack of posting. Well, my new job has turned out to be a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing because I get to do what I love – blogging – but the downside is that I am so tired from doing social media for my clients all day that I have no energy left for my own.

My goal is to get back to posting here very soon, but in the mean time, here are the blogs that have been keeping me busy (I also tweet, Facebook and YouTube for these companies, and you can access those accounts through these blogs):

My Office View

September 14, 2010

As many of you know, I was on a two-month job search that ended a few weeks ago with one of the best outcomes I could have imagined. Preston and I had prayed continuously that God would bring me to a place that would be a positive environment and allow me to use the skills and experience I have gained as well as add to them.

Well, as He usually does, He surpassed our expectations. I am now working for a Christian-run digital and video marketing company called Splash Media. I absolutely love what I’m doing, and the people I work with are fantastic!

In addition to the job itself is our location. As I’m writing this (on my phone – yep, there’s an app for that), I’m sitting outside a little cafe listening to jazz music and watching the dog walkers in the central park. I can’t imagine a more peaceful retreat in the middle of such a fast-paced day!

Boys and Their Toys

September 12, 2010

Before Preston and I got married, my Nonnie offered me a piece of wisdom that I didn’t fully understand at the time: “Brittany,” she said, “just remember that the only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.” Well, Nonnie, I can officially say that I know exactly what you mean. Preston has a new toy, and while it’s my least favorite of all his toys (for obvious reasons), it’s the one he likes most!
